 The Neydharting Moor is situated in the middle of Austria in the Austrian Alpine region. In this region many small glacial lakes have silted up with sedimentation in the course of thousands of years giving birth to what is termed as "Flachmoor". The Neydharting Moor is comprised of silts that are intensive of many different herbal plants that grew in the area at the time the lakes were formed. It is the variety of the plant nutrients that were trapped in this glacial water which entered the valley which give the Neydharting Moor its particular qualities. The Neydharting Moor is the only moor that can boast of being comprised of peat made up of over 700 herbs and plants, of which more than 300 have traditionally accepted medicinal qualities.
